A one-person detail operation working out of a garage and a five-location dealer service network look nothing alike on the surface. A solo detailer runs this loop by themselves, from memory, maybe with a notebook or a group of text threads. A multi-location chain runs the same loop dozens of times a day across different buildings, different techs, different managers, all needing to see the same picture. The steps are identical. What breaks is visibility, once there's more than one person or more than one location involved.

Why we built it to flex across all of it

We didn't set out to build "auto shop software" and then bolt other industries onto it later. The core of ShopSynq, repair orders, scheduling, inventory with reorder alerts, a time clock, invoicing, customer and vehicle records, reporting, was built around that same universal workflow above. That's why it works for a one-truck mobile detailer, a five-bay independent shop, a multi-location group, or a dealer service department without feeling like it was built for someone else.

Marine is the clearest proof of that. We built a full adaptation for boat and marina operations, with vessel records instead of vehicle records, HIN instead of VIN, engine hours instead of mileage, and inspection templates built around hulls, bilges, and drive systems instead of brakes and belts. It's a real, deep adaptation, not a relabeled car app.

Motorcycle, ATV, and small engine shops are a more honest case. There's no dedicated relabeling for those yet, no "motorcycle mode." But the underlying fields, year, make, model, VIN, mileage, repair orders, parts, work for a motorcycle or an ATV exactly the way they work for a car, because those vehicles have the same kind of records. You're not fighting the software to make it fit, you're just using the automotive side of it as-is.
