ShopSynq AI includes seven built-in reports: Revenue, Profit, Parts Margin, Tax, Time & Pay, Appointments & Estimates, and Advanced Analytics. Revenue, Profit, Parts Margin, and Tax are included on every plan, including Solo. Time & Pay and Appointments & Estimates require the Shop plan or higher. Advanced Analytics requires Pro. Below is what each one actually tracks and how it's meant to be used.

Revenue

All Plans

The starting point for knowing where the money's coming from.

This is the report to check first thing Monday morning: how much came in last week, and whether the average ticket is trending up or down.

Profit

All Plans

Revenue tells you what came in. Profit tells you what you actually kept.

The coverage percentage matters more than it sounds like it should: if techs aren't clocking time against jobs, labor cost gets understated, and this number tells you exactly how much to trust the profit figure versus how much is a rough estimate.

Parts Margin

All Plans

Line-by-line visibility into what parts are actually making the shop money.

Cost price is optional on a part line item, which means this report is only as complete as the data entered. The coverage indicator exists so a shop knows whether it's looking at the full picture or a partial one.

Tax

All Plans

Sales tax tracked automatically from every invoice, not a spreadsheet built separately at tax time.

Voided invoices are excluded entirely, so the numbers reflect real, live billing activity, not cancelled work.

Revenue, Profit, Parts Margin, and Tax all ship on the Solo plan. A one-person shop gets the same financial visibility as a five-bay operation, not a stripped-down version of it.

Time & Pay

Shop Plan and Up

Detailed time tracking per technician, tied to real pay.

Techs see only their own entries; owners and managers see everyone's, and can adjust an entry with a note when something needs correcting.

Appointments & Estimates

Shop Plan and Up

How many bookings actually turn into paying jobs.

The open-estimates list is the practical part: it surfaces exactly which quotes are getting stale and need a follow-up call before the customer goes elsewhere.

Advanced Analytics

Pro Plan

The deeper, cross-cutting view for shops that want to make decisions off real trend data.

Technicians get a scoped version of this report showing only their own productivity numbers; owners and managers see everything, with an optional filter by location.

FAQ

Does ShopSynq AI track sales tax?

Yes. The Tax report shows tax collected on paid invoices, tax owed on draft and sent invoices, total tax, taxable subtotal, and a full invoice-by-invoice breakdown. It's included on every plan, including Solo.

What reports come with the Solo plan?

Solo includes Revenue, Profit, Parts Margin, and Tax reports. Time & Pay and Appointments & Estimates require the Shop plan or higher, and Advanced Analytics requires Pro.

Do I need the Pro plan for advanced analytics?

Yes. Advanced Analytics (revenue by service and vehicle make, top customers, monthly trends, tech productivity, and multi-location filtering) is a Pro-tier feature.

Can technicians see reports in ShopSynq AI?

Technicians see their own data in Advanced Analytics (their own productivity numbers only) and Time & Pay (their own clocked hours). The financial reports, Revenue, Profit, Parts Margin, and Tax, are owner and manager only.

How does ShopSynq calculate profit?

The Profit report subtracts real costs from real revenue: parts cost (from cost price entered on part line items) and labor cost (clocked hours multiplied by each technician's pay rate). It also shows a coverage percentage for how much labor revenue has real cost data behind it.
